In the first of its kind in the Indian aviation industry Jet airways and Kingfisher airlines have entered into a strategic alliance to fight back the financial crisis being faced by the global economy. In the current situation the airlines have come together on a common ground to work together with regards to fuel management, ground handling, sales and staff as well as rationalise network and crew.

The Civil Aviation Ministry has allowed air Deccan, in which Kingfisher Red Airlines has a substantial stake, to operate seven flights a week between Bangalore and London (Heathrow). As per both airlines there is no equity implications in this alliance. This alliance is similar to global alliances such as One World, Sky Team, and Star Alliance. This move is not a cartel but a move to save costs. According to both airlines this alliance will result in substantial cost saving and both airlines have collaborated on a long term perspective.

Cancellations by the Passenger

A passenger can cancel a ticket 2 hours prior to flight departure. If a passenger cancels the Airline ticket within 2 hours of flight departure, there will be NO REFUND given with the exception of the passenger service fee of Rs. 225/-.

Incase a passenger cancels a ticket; there will be no refund against the Ticket. Rs. 500/- (per person) along with the transaction fee will be deducted from the ticket value and the balance amount will be held in the form of an OPEN TICKET/ Voucher, in the name of the passenger(s).

If the passenger has cancelled the ticket within 2 hours of flight departure, he / she will not be entitled to this OPEN TICKET / Voucher. There will be no cancellation charges for an infant.

Tickets can be cancelled only through the Kingfisher Red Call Centre and requests for an Open Ticket can be placed. A Voucher Number will be issued in the names of the passengers listed on the given ticket, whose ticket has been cancelled. Cancellation of Kingfisher Red Tickets by Passengers ' Terms & Conditions

If multiple passengers are cancelled at one go then there will be only one Voucher generated, but if an individual passenger is cancelled separately, then different vouchers can be generated, based on the requirement of the ticket holder, for which a request needs to be placed with our Call Centre, at the time of cancellation.

The Open Ticket / Voucher are valid for a period for 180 days from the date of issue. The passenger can re-book for travel within the validity period at the end of which the Open Ticket/ Voucher will expire and there will be no refund (with an exception of the Passenger Service Fee) against the Open Ticket / Voucher. Incase the passenger does not utilize the voucher within the 180 day validity, the refund of Rs. 225/- towards the Passengers service fee, will roll back to the point of purchase and needs to be collected by the passenger.

This Open Ticket/ Voucher would need to be recorded by the passenger, for future reference at the time of redemption.
